Getting Started with Aura
Pick a sign-in path
New Aura account (Google, Apple, or email) — Aura creates a dedicated embedded wallet via Privy. You don't need an existing wallet, and trading is gasless — even your funding transactions are sponsored. Enabling trading sets Aura as your Hyperliquid referrer, so you're on the zero-fee path: no builder fees until $1B lifetime volume.
Bring your wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, WalletConnect, any EVM wallet) — connect and sign in. You keep full custody, and Aura never touches funds in your external wallet. You get the same zero-fee path — enabling trading sets Aura as your referrer too, unless your Hyperliquid account already had a different referrer before joining Aura, in which case a 0.001% builder fee applies.
Not sure which to pick? See Embedded vs External Wallet.
Enable trading
After signing in, you'll go through a short one-time setup to enable trading on Hyperliquid. Each step requires one signature. You won't necessarily see all of them — Aura only shows the steps your account actually needs:
-
Agent key — authorizes an on-device API wallet to place orders without signing each trade. It can place, cancel, and modify orders. It cannot withdraw or transfer funds. Learn more.
-
Unified account — switches your Hyperliquid account to unified mode, which lets you trade USDC and USDH markets from a single balance. Required by Hyperliquid before setting a referrer or approving fees.
-
Set referrer — sets Aura as your Hyperliquid referrer. Aura earns a share of your Hyperliquid fees from Hyperliquid's fee pool at no extra cost to you.
-
Builder fee (only when it applies) — a one-time approval authorizing a 0.1% fee ceiling (the maximum Aura could charge without re-approval). Most Aura-referred accounts never see this step, because they're on the zero-fee path and pay nothing. It appears only when the fee would actually apply to your account — for example, if your Hyperliquid account already had a different referrer before joining Aura. The actual rate is far lower at 0.001% per order. Not charged on perps.fun. Revocable any time from Hyperliquid.
You only do this once per device. If you clear site data or reinstall the app, the agent key step repeats — your funds and positions are never at risk. See Lost device or cleared storage.
Deposit
To trade on Hyperliquid, you need USDC in your Hyperliquid account. Send directly from Hyperliquid.com or the Hyperliquid app to your Aura wallet address, or use the built-in Moonpay widget to buy with a card or bank transfer. See How to deposit.
Polymarket requires pUSD on Polygon. See Deposit to Polymarket for details.
You're set
Once trading is enabled, orders execute immediately — no per-trade signatures. Your positions, open orders, and fill history are all visible from the trade panel.
